Tata Motors Movus launched in India at Rs 6.99 lakh

Tata Motors has launched its Movus utility vehicle in India at Rs 6.99 and 7.29 lakh for its CX and LX variants, respectively(ex-Delhi). Both the alternatives are available in the seven, eight and nine-seater configurations.

Tata claims that the Movus is a spacious, comfortable and reliable family vehicle with fuel efficiency and low running costs that make it extremely economical for the customer. The UV packs in three rows of seats with flexible seating options, comprising of front facing, side facing and captain seats, depending on the configuration chosen. The wheelbase of 2550mm, Tata claims, also greatly influences the cabin room and legroom. Powering the Movus is the tried and tested 2.2-litre Varicor diesel engine which generates power figures of 120PS and 250Nm. The task of conveying the power to the wheels is handled by a five-speed manual transmission. Tata claims that the fuel efficiency figure is 15.16kmpl. The big utility vehicle is equipped with an independent double wishbone with coil springs at the front and a parabolic leaf spring-suspension at the rear to help negotiate uneven surfaces with ease.

There are some mechanical enhancements added to the car which include a new rack and pinion system for the power steering and a new concentric sleeve cylinder which reduces clutch effort for a better driving experience.

Tata is offering a three year or 1,50,000kms engine warranty, whichever comes earlier, on the Movus. Customers can choose from two colours- porcelain white and meteor silver.
