Tata Motors launches new Safari Storme VX variant in India at Rs 13.25 lakh
A new variant of the Safari Storme SUV has been launched in India today. The variant is available only in the VX trim. The Safari Storme Varicor 400 VX gets the same 2.2-litre Varicor engine seen in the 2015 models, but retuned to make 400Nm, up by 80Nm from the regular variants. Also new is the 6-speed manual gearbox that helps put the 156PS of max power to the road.
The highlight inside, though, is the ConnectNext infotainment system which we saw and liked in the Zest and the Bolt. Apart from regular features like aux, mp3 and USB support, this infotainment system also gets Bluetooth and iPod connectivity, audio streaming and a reverse parking sensor display. The six-speaker sound system is again provided by Harman.
Other features like ESOF (Electronic Shift on-Fly) along with safety equipment comprising of dual SRS airbags and ABS/ EBD come standard on this variant.

The 4x2 Safari Storme Varicor 400 VX is priced at Rs 13.25 lakh (ex-New Delhi), while the 4X4 option retails at Rs 14.59 lakh (ex-New Delhi).

The newest addition to the Safari Storme family, the Safar Storme VX is available in both 4x2 and 4x4 drive options, and is priced @ Rs 13,25,530 for the 4X2 option, with the VX 4X4 option priced at Rs 14,59,952 (ex-showroom New Delhi) With renewed 156 PS power, the new 2.2L VARICOR 400 engine now produces 400Nm of torque, delivered through a new 6-speed manual gearbox, with a self-adjusting clutch, for a perfect balance for power, performance and a car like feel. With power delivered to all-4 wheels with a Shift-on-the fly four-wheel drive system, the vehicle is fitted with Limited Slip Differential (LSD) which enables the vehicle to negotiate any surface with ease. The new VARICOR 400 engine, turbocharged with VTT (Variable Turbine Technology), delivers 156 PS power & 400 Nm torque, providing easy drivability, swifter response and lower NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness), with fuel efficiency at 13.9 kmpl as per ARAI.
