Tata Motors launches Harrier and Safari XTA+ variants, prices start from Rs 19.14 lakh
Tata Motors launched the XT+ variant of the Harrier in September last year but that was only offered with the manual transmission. The new XTA+ variant is offered with the Harrier and Harrier Dark, which is priced at 19.14 lakh and 19.34 lakh respectively. The XTA+ variant on the Safari also brings in the 6-speed automatic and panoramic sunroof and that is priced at Rs 20.08 lakh ex-showroom.
Talking about the features on offer, the XTA+ variant on both the Harrier and Safari offers projector headlights, top-mounted dual-function LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels (18-inch with the Safari), push-button start, cruise control, automatic climate control, auto wipers and headlights, 7.0-inch infotainment with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and iRA connectivity, reverse parking camera, mood lighting and more. In terms of safety, the XTA+ variant is offered with dual airbags, ESP, traction control, hill-hold control and more.
Powering both the Harrier and the Safari is the FCA-sourced 2.0-litre diesel engine that churns out 170PS and 350 Nm of torque. The diesel motor is mated to a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed torque convertor. As per records of Tata, the Harrier and Safari are leading the SUV segment with a 41.2 per cent market share. The new XTA+ variant offers the much-loved panoramic sunroof along with the convenience of an automatic transmission. Tata Harrier takes on the likes of the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta whereas the Safari plays rivalry with the Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector Plus. Read our Tata Safari road test review here.
