Tata Motors today announced a partnership with Lithium Urban Technologies, an EV-based urban transportation service provider founded by Sanjay Krishnan, to deploy 5,000 XPRES T Electric Sedans across the country for employee transportation, with the goal of accelerating the transition to sustainable transportation.

Tata Motors established the 'XPRES' brand for fleet clients in July 2021, and the XPRES-T' EV is the first car under this brand. The new XPRES-T electric vehicle is available in two ranges: 213 km and 165 km (ARAI certified range under test conditions). It has a 21.5 kWh and 16.5 kWh high-energy-density battery that can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 90 minutes and 110 minutes, respectively, utilizing fast charging.

It can also be charged conventionally from any 15 A plug point, which is readily available and handy.

It has zero tailpipe emissions, a single-speed automatic transmission, dual airbags, and ABS with EBD as standard equipment on all models. It will stand out from other Tata cars because of its luxury black theme inside, standard automatic temperature control, and Electric Blue highlights across the interior and exterior.

With an 87 percent market share in FY'22 and over 24,000 Tata EVs on the road in the personal and fleet segment, Tata Motors is leading the e-mobility trend in India. In addition, Tata Motors is collaborating with other Tata Group firms such as Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Auto Components, Tata Motors Finance, and Croma to help accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in India through its EV ecosystem known as the 'Tata uniEVerse.'

Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said, "With the 'XPRES-T' EV Sedan we have created new benchmark in the fleet market. Targeted at mobility services, corporate and government fleet customers, the XPRES-T EV offers an optimal battery size, captive fast charging solution, which will ensure outstandingly low cost of ownership in addition to safety and passenger comfort, making it a comprehensive and attractive proposition for fleet owners and operators. This MOU is big leap towards faster adoption of EVs in the shared mobility space and we are delighted to take forward our long-term partnership with Lithium Urban Technologies, who are on the path to provide mobility solutions with a focus on sustainability and supporting India's e-mobility mission."
