Tata launches updated Nexon EV Prime and Max

Tata Motors has launched the updated the Nexon EV Prime and Max in India with revised pricing, along with a longer driving range and an introduction of a new entry-level variant, called XM, in the Nexon EV Max line-up. The new prices of the Nexon EV Prime start at Rs 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Nexon EV Max comes with a new starting price of Rs 16.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the bookings for the updated Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max commence today, whereas the deliveries of the new XM variant will start in April this year.

Tata Nexon EV MAX: New XM variant

The new entry-level XM variant in the Nexon EV Max lineup comes loaded with features, such as an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, auto temperature control, electronic stability program (ESP) with i-VBAC, projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, car start/stop switch, semi-digital instrument cluster, Zconnect connected car features with smartwatch connectivity, and rear disc brakes.

The top-spec Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux also comes equipped with a lot of features and has now been priced at Rs 18.49 lakh. It was launched at Rs 19.24 lakh when launched. Meanwhile, Tata offers it with leatherette upholstery, front seat ventilation, a wireless charger, auto-dimming IRVM, an air purifier, an electric sunroof, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system by Harman, 8 speakers sound system, 16-inch alloy wheels, hill descent control, and shark fin antenna.

Tata Nexon EV Prime: Updated pricing

While the Nexon EV Max gets a new base-spec variant, the Nexon EV Prime variants and feature list remain unchanged but benefits from new pricing instead. The SUV boasts a start/stop switch, semi-digital instrument cluster, cruise control, ZConnect-connected car features with smartwatch connectivity, seven-inch touchscreen infotainment, regen modes, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and automatic temperature control.

Tata Nexon EV: Battery pack, range, performance

The Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max are powered by 30.2kWh and 40.5kWh battery packs, respectively. The former promises a range of 312km, while the latter has a range of 437km. However, the Nexon EV Max will now benefit from an extended range of 453km via a software update. To install the latest iteration of the software, customers can visit the nearest dealerships from 15 January, 2023.
