First showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, the launch of the Tata Altroz Racer has been a long-due. However, it has been confirmed that its launch will happen in the next month. And ahead of its market debut, the undisguised Altroz Racer was recently spotted on the public roads.

Tata Altroz Racer: Design & Interior

If the spy shots are to go by, the Altroz Racer looks identical to the model showcased at the auto show. It carries over almost the same design as the standard Altroz, except for a handful of cosmetic changes, such as newly designed alloy wheels. In addition, the Racer version, as seen in the pictures, will come with at least one new colour paired with two parallel white stripes. No doubt, there will be extra model designation in the form of 'Racer' lettering badges.

Although the spy pictures of the interior are not available, it is safe to say that the Altroz Racer will largely keep a layout similar to the regular Altroz. But we expect it to come with a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an all-digital instrument console from the Nexon facelift.

Other highlights could include special seat covers, a new steering wheel (similar to its elder siblings) updated connected car tech, telematics, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated seats, a voice-activated electric sunroof, wireless charging pad, four-wheel disc brakes, six airbags, hill hold assist, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), and ABS with EBD, among others.

Tata Altroz Racer: Engine specifications

The most significant change lies under the bonnet, with the Nexon-borrowed 1.2-litre, inline three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine generating 120PS and 170Nm of torque. This motor is likely to be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and a new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Tata Altroz Racer: Price

While the standard Altroz price starts at Rs 6.65 lakh and goes up to Rs 10.80 lakh (both ex-showroom), the Racer version is expected to be priced between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 14 lakh. Upon launch, it will take on the Hyundai i20 N Line.
