The Suzuki Gixxer 250 and 250 SF models have been recalled due to wrong brake calliper being installed on the bike.

  • V-Strom SX's brake calliper placed on the Gixxer 250 and 250 SF
  • Inspection and replacement campaign will soon commence and will be free of cost
  • Over 5000 units recalled

The Suzuki Gixxer 250 SF and 250 that were manufactured between February 2022  and June 2025 have been wrongly fitted with the brake calliper of the V-Strom SX. A total of 5,145 units have been recalled due to this issue. The company has addressed the issue and will soon carry out a service and inspection program which will correct the issue by fitting the appropriate brake callipers on the affected units.

The wrong brake calliper will function for a short duration but in long term, the inappropriate arrangement will force the brake pads to bite the discs unevenly and thus it can cause uneven and faster brake pad wear. The customers who have purchased a Gixxer 250 or Gixxer 250 SF should visit the closest service centres and get the issue checked out.

The bike is powered by a 249CC, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that comes mated to six-speed manual transmission. The engine pushes a good 26.5 PS at 9,300 rpm and 22.2 Nm of peak torque at 7,300 rpm. Noteworthy mentions include a 12-litre fuel tank, 800 mm seat height, all LED lighting, and it rides on 17-inch wheels.
