Suzuki Motor Corporation showcased several vehicles at the Japan Mobility Show 2023, including the Swift, eWX concept, Spacia and Spacia Custom concepts, along with the near-production-spec eVX. While the eVX concept was already showcased earlier this year, the brand took the stage at the Japanese auto show to showcase the interior of the eVX electric SUV.

Suzuki eVX: Design

As seen in the pictures, the Suzuki eVX showcased at the Japan Mobility Show appears to be a near-production-ready model compared to the concept version. It now features a range of new design elements, such as triangular daytime running lights, front and rear bumpers, door-mounted outside view mirrors, and taillights. The electric SUV also gets aero-optimised alloy wheels, LED headlights and fog lamps, flush door handles, a roof spoiler, and body cladding. Meanwhile, Maruti had previously stated that the eVX will be 4,300mm in length, 1,800mm in width, and 1,600mm in height. Plus, it will have a wheelbase of 2,700mm.

Suzuki eVX: Interior

On the inside, the futuristic and minimalistic cabin layout shows the new direction of the interior design of Suzuki. The eVX gets a somewhat squared-shaped steering wheel, an UltraWide single-piece display, a floating centre console with an integrated rotary gear selector, touch-capacitive switches at the centre of the dashboard, new seats, and probably upholstery made from recycled and eco-friendly materials. In addition, the eVX comes with ambient lighting and a glass roof.

Suzuki eVX: Range, battery pack, and charging

With a 60kWh battery pack, the eVX promises a driving range of up to 500km on a single charge. It is likely to be offered with a single-motor or dual-motor setup along with a support to fast DC and AC chargers.

Suzuki eVX: Launch and production

The eVX is expected to be positioned as a compact SUV in the Indian market, rivalling the likes of the rumoured Hyundai Creta EV and other upcoming electric SUVs in the segment. We expect Maruti Suzuki to introduce the eVX in 2025 and the electric SUV. The eVX is likely to be manufactured in India. In fact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stones for Maruti Suzuki's Rs 7,300 crore EV battery facility being developed in Hansalpur and an EV manufacturing plant in Gandhinagar in 2022.
