Stellantis India names Aditya Jairaj as new CEO and MD

Stellantis India has announced the appointment of Aditya Jairaj as the new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, effective 1 January, 2024. He is currently serving as the Deputy Managing Director and Head of Jeep India at Stellantis, will succeed Roland Bouchara, who has led Stellantis in India for six and a half years and will move to another role in Europe.

During Roland's tenure as CEO and MD from 2021, he played a pivotal role in driving Stellantis India's expansion, notably establishing a firm foundation for both Citroën and Jeep in the country, the firm said in a statement.

"It's an honour to lead Stellantis in India. The group is a constellation of some of the most iconic brands in the global automobile landscape, brands that have driven the evolution of the industry. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to Roland for his invaluable contributions. Stepping into this new role, I am dedicated to fostering ongoing growth, innovation, and sustainable progress together with our exceptional teams and partners," said Aditya Jairaj, CEO & MD, Stellantis India.

At present, Stellantis in India operates three manufacturing plants located in Ranjangaon, Hosur, and Thiruvallur, along with an ICT Hub in Hyderabad, a Software Centre in Bengaluru, and two R&D centres in Chennai and Pune. Its "Make in India" initiative has positioned India as the exclusive global production hub for four Jeep models, namely the Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Meridian, and Compass, outside North America, and for the Citroën C5 Aircross outside France.
