To celebrate the two decades that it has been selling its cars in China, Ferrari is bringing in a special edition of its 458 Italia to the Beijing show on April 23. Only 20 of these will be made and the entire lot has been allotted to the Chinese market. The car's livery is characterised by unique Chinese elements and is finished in a brand new colour called Marco Polo Red.

There will be a golden dragon on the front bonnet, which is offset by gold and black livery stripes symbolising a racing track. The rims will have a gold finish while the winglets will also get s splash of it, gold being the favourite Chinese colour. Ferrari says the inspiration behind this 'longma' theme is an old Chinese idiom which means "the vigour and spirit of the legendary dragon-horse". The interiors also get generous doses of gold embroidery on the headrests while the engine start button will have the word 'start' written in Chinese with a '20th Anniversary Special Edition' plaque on the dash. No mechanical changes have been reported and the 458 Italia will sport the same mid-rear layout for the 8-cylinder engine.

Along with this, Ferrari will also inaugurate its first permanent brand exhibition outside of Maranello at the Italia Center of Shanghai World Expo Park. This particular exhibition covers 900 square metres and will last for three years. Visitors will be greeted with Ferrari's past and present models along with a number of images and videos made especially for this occasion.
