Skoda showcases Kushaq Explorer concept in India
Skoda India has announced its plans for the Indian markets, including an all-new sub-four meter SUV and first-ever electric vehicle, the Enyaq. However, the brand has also showcased the Kushaq Explorer, a concept model based on the standard Kushaq. It features a variety of cosmetic changes and a few additions over the SUV it is based on.
Skoda Kushaq Explorer: Design and Interior
The Kushaq Explorer, based on the Kushaq Style variant, gets a matte green paint job, front and rear tow hooks, blacked-out wheels, off-road-oriented tyres, roof rails, a roof-mounted LED light bar, and blacked-out badging. All chrome parts have been painted in glossy black finish. Plus, contrasting orange accents are applied to bumpers, grille, side cladding, and the front skid plate.
On the inside, the Kushaq Explorer is expected to maintain the layout identical to the standard Kushaq but might feature contrasting inserts and distinctive upholstery. It is likely to carry over the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, all-digital instrument cluster, an eight-speaker sound system with a sub-woofer, ventilated seats, sunroof, connected car tech, and more.
Skoda Kushaq Explorer: Engine
Under the bonnet, the Skoda Kushaq Explorer is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged TSI Evo petrol engine that delivers 150PS and 250Nm of torque. Transmission options may include a six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, with claimed mileage figures of 18.60kmpl and 18.86kmpl, respectively.
