Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo spied ahead of May 9 launch

The upcoming 2022 Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo has been leaked ahead of its India launch on May 9. The new top-spec Kushaq has been spotted at a dealer stockyard and confirms most of the expected visual and interior upgrades expected to be seen on the new mid-sized SUV.

The Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo gets a similar treatment as previous Monte Carlo editions of Skoda cars. So there is a black-themed exterior look with all the chrome embellishments replaced with gloss black. Also seen in these images is Monte Carlo exterior badging as well as black alloy wheels. The interiors of the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo get a black and red upholstery package with a red and black dual-tone treatment to the dashboard and centre console, and aluminium pedals have also been added. Aside from the features seen in the Kushaq Style variant like wireless charging, ventilated seats, sunroof and so on, the Kushaq Monte Carlo should also gets the 8-inch digital instrument cluster that debuted in the Slavia.

2022 Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo engine options, specifications

Since the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo is based on the Style variant, expect to see both the engine options being offered with the new SUV. The Skoda SUV is powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol putting out 115PS and 175 Nm or a 1.5-litre turbo that makes 150PS and 250 Nm. The latter also features cylinder deactivation tech and pairs with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed DCT. The smaller engine can be had with a six-speed manual or torque converter.

2022 Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo expected prices, rivals

The Kushaq Monte Carlo should come at a Rs 50,000 to 60,000 premium over the Style variant. Prices for the Skoda Kushaq Style start from Rs 14.89 lakh. Its main competitors are the VW Taigun, MG Astor, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
