Skoda India surpasses a milestone of 225 touchpoints
Skoda Auto India has achieved a new milestone of crossing the mark of 225 touchpoints across India. These 225 touchpoints comprise showrooms, sales branches, service centres, and compact workshops. Skoda Auto had 120 touchpoints by 2020, which grew to 175 by December next year. To further expand its presence across the country, the brand aims to achieve its goal of 250 touchpoints soon.
Furthermore, the automaker announced that it reported the highest-ever sales in 2022 so far with annual sales surpassing 50,000 units. Notably, Skoda has witnessed twofold growth in annual sales this year over the previous year. Meanwhile, it also exports made-in-India vehicles to various countries around the globe. Skoda now plans to enter Vietnam in 2024.
The carmaker launched the Kushaq in India in June 2021, while it introduced the Slavia in March 2022. Developed under India 2.0 project, both models use the MQB-A0-IN platform and share that with the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus. Moreover, the Kushaq was recently tested by Global NCAP under its #safercarsforIndia initiative. The Kushaq was one of the first models to be tested under Global NCAP's more demanding test protocols. It achieved a five-star rating for both adult and child occupants protection.
