Simple One Gen 2 launched at Rs 1.40 lakh

Simple has launched the Gen 2 range at a starting price of Rs 1.40 lakh for the base model - Simple OneS, the 4.5 kWh Simple One retails at Rs 1.70 lakh and the 5-kWh battery pack will set you back by Rs 1.78 lakh.

- Offered in three battery sizes – 3.7 kWh, 4.5 kWh and 5 kWh
- Claims a range of 265 km for the bigger battery pack and 236 km for the smaller 4. 5 kWh battery pack
- Simple One Ultra showcased with a 6.5 kWh battery

The 5-kWh battery pack powers an electric motor that pushes around 12 PS and 72 Nm of peak torque. The company claims a range of 265 km on a single charge. The smaller 4.5 kWh battery pack claims to provide a range of 236 km and a 0-40 kmph in just 2.55 seconds for both variants. The top speed for both electric scooters stands at 115 kmph. The base model uses a 3.7 kWh battery pack that claims a range of 190 km (IDC) on a full charge. The motor on the base model pushes 8.8 PS and 52 Nm of peak torque.

The company also showcased the Simple One Ultra variant that claims a range of 400 km (IDC) on a single charge. And the pricing for this variant is yet to be announced.

The electric scooter comes with all bells and whistles, the larger battery pack version comes with a 7-inch TFT touch screen, 35-litres of boot space, a USB charging port, a front glove box, a USB charging port, four levels of traction modes, four level of regenerative braking, two levels of cruise control, vehicle fall cutoff, emergency braking lights, and hill hold assist to name a few.

The base model, Simple One S gets a 7-inch TFT dash with no touch functionality. The dash also offers dark and light theme options.

The electric scooter is offered in three colours - Sonic Red, Aero X and Asphalt X. And all Gen 2 scooter will come with a lifetime warranty. The Gen 2 variants of Simple One and OneS are available for immediate purchase over 61 Simple Energy showrooms in cities including Bengaluru, Goa, Pune, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Kochi, Jaipur, Mangalore, and more. Customers can additionally purchase the scooters online via Amazon and Flipkart. Simple Ultra will also be available for pre-booking at the showrooms.
