The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 prototype has been spied once again in India. But this time, it was spotted undergoing winter tests near snow-clad Khardung la in Leh, Ladakh. Notably, it has already been spotted testing in the country on countless occasions.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Design
The latest short video shows a pair of Himalayan 450 prototypes being tested in between snowy Khardung la and Nubra valley. As seen in the latest spy shots, the motorcycle appears identical to the model spotted earlier this month.

Regarding the design, the Himalayan 450 will be larger in terms of dimensions than the on-sale Himalayan. Going by the latest and all previous spy shots, the adventure tourer will feature a muscular fuel tank, metal frames, spoke wheels, a short-length silencer, bash plate, split seat, round LED headlamp, LED indicators, and rugged luggage mounting plate, and a wider handlebar.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Mechanicals and Features
The upcoming Himalayan 450 is likely to come equipped with upside-down forks, a mono-shock at the rear, and a disc brake setup at the front and rear. Royal Enfield is expected to offer an adjustable Showa-sourced USD and mono-shock. In addition, there could be a colour TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, dual-channel ABS, slipper clutch, traction control, riding modes, and ride-by-wire, among others.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Engine
Powering the Himalayan 450 is expected to be a 450cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor paired with a six-speed gearbox. It is said that this engine could generate north of 40PS and 45Nm of torque.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Launch, Price, and rivals
While Royal Enfield has not declared any definitive timescale for the launch of the all-new Himalayan 450 yet, the adventure tourer could arrive sometime later this year. It will attract a higher premium over the current Himalayan. Thus, its prices could start at Rs 2.50 lakh. Upon launch, the Himalayan 450 will rival the KTM Adventure 390.
