Royal Enfield domestic sales up by 36 per cent

Royal Enfield registered a 27 per cent increase in total sales to 74,746 units in January 2023. It reported a total sales of 58,838 units in the same month last year. Notably, the overall sales figure comprised 67,702 units of domestic sales and 7,044 units of exports.

Domestic sales rose by 36.15 per cent to 67,702 units from 49,726 units sold in January 2022, while the exports went down by 22.70 per cent to 7,044 compared to 9,112 units sold in the year-ago period.

Royal Enfield witnessed 48.70 per cent year-to-date growth in domestic sales to 6,10,520 units between April 2022 to January 2023. Whereas, its domestic sales stood at 4,10,624 units from April 2021 to January 2022. On the other hand, the brand exported 80,596 units between April 2022 to January 2023, reporting growth of 24.40 per cent from 64,807 units sold between April 2021 to January 2022. Overall, the year-to-date sales stood at 6,91,116 units.

In other news, Royal Enfield started the new year with the launch of the new Super Meteor 650, the third motorcycle based on the 650 platform. The Super Meteor 650 debuted an LED headlight and upside-down (USD) forks for the first time for Royal Enfield. It is available in a choice of seven paint options across two versions, namely Standard and Tourer.

The Super Meteor 650 is powered by a 648cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled SOHC motor mated to a six-speed gearbox. This engine produces 47PS at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm of torque at 5,650rpm.
