Renault's assault on the sub 10 lakh rupee SUV segment in India is just around the corner with its new Duster. The SUV was shown at the Auto Expo in January 2012 but details were quite sketchy at that time. We now have confirmed word that the Duster will come with a choice of two engines, a 1.6-litre petrol engine good for 104PS and 145Nm of torque. The diesel variant will get the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine from the Fluence sedan with 85 and 110PS power configurations while 5 and 6-speed manual transmissions will be on offer. The Duster will run on 16-inch alloy wheels while leather trim with airbags and ABS/EBD will be available on the top of the line variant. Renault has also included a rear aircon as a special addition for India.
