Renault Pulse Voyage Edition launched in India
Renault had introduced the Pulse into an already heated hatchback segment and a number of factors including the pricing saw it limited to puny sales figures. Now Renault has silently launched the Voyage on its website, in a bid to revive the hatch.
There are no changes outside - no new kitting, colours, alloys or sticker jobs. Changes on the inside include a new touchscreen multimedia system that doubles as a navigation system and Focal speakers. The car also gets a 'Voyage' accessory package worth Rs 58,000.
Additionally Renault is offering free insurance for two years, a two year extended warranty, and four years of roadside assistance with this special edition. The engine options remain the same, either a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol mill making 76PS of power and 104Nm of torque or a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder K9K diesel that delivers 64PS of max power and 160Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
One of the major drawbacks with the Pulse is that under the skin, it is the Micra with a more premium price tag. Prices for the Renault Pulse start at Rs 4.4 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
