Renault Duster 1.3-litre turbo petrol SUV launched in India at Rs 10.49 lakh
Renault India has announced the prices of the 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine powered Duster SUV, starting from Rs 10.49 lakhs. The company will be offering three trims in manual transmission, RXE, RXS and RXZ and two trims in CVT - RXS and RXZ. The base price of the CVT equipped model has been kept at Rs 12.99 lakh. Additionally, Renault is also offering the 1.5-litre petrol that was already available on the Duster, which is priced at Rs. 8.59 lakh.
The 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine that is being in the Duster is the same unit that does duty in the Nissan Kicks and is the most powerful in the segment. This replaces the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine which was an important powertrain that was shared by Renault-Nissan cars. The alliance, however, is moving away from diesel instead of recalibrating them to comply with the stricter BSVI emission norms.
In terms of power and torque, the 1.3-litre turbo petrol makes 156PS of power at 5,500rpm and generates 254Nm of torque at 1,600rpm respectively. The company claimed efficiencies on this engine are 16.5 kmpl in manual transmission and 16.42 kmpl in the CVT version. For the ones now aware, this unit also powers Renault's international offerings such as the Kadjar SUV and the Arkana crossover along with entry-level Mercedes-Benz cars like the A-Class sedan and the GLA.
The 2020 Renault Duster has received subtle updates too in the form of new alloy wheel design, an engine Start-Stop function and remote cabin pre-cooling. The previous features set remains unchanged so there's the new eight-inch touchscreen compatible with CarPlay and AndroidAuto along with safety features such as ABS, Engine immobiliser, Driver and front passenger airbags, driver and passenger seat belt reminder, reverse parking sensors, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) with Brake Assist (BA) and rapid deceleration warning.
"The launch of Renault Duster equipped with the 1.3L Turbo Petrol engine marks a new chapter in the DUSTER journey in India. This is a world-class engine and powers our successful global SUVs and Crossovers like Kadjar and Arkana. DUSTER has achieved an iconic status in one of the most dynamic automotive markets. Over the years, adventure enthusiasts and numerous Indian families have established a strong bond with this True SUV. The bold and more powerful DUSTER will surely inspire more people to join the growing family of adventure seekers and explore new terrains and horizons, as well as enjoy the effortless driving experience," mentioned, Venkatram Mamillapalle, Country CEO & Managing Director, Renault India Operations.
