The exterior teaser photos of the future EV9 electric SUV's road-going version have been officially released by Kia. The Kia EV9 SUV has been under development for 44 months and had its concept debut at the LA Auto Show in November 2021.

The same E-GMP specialized electric architecture that underpins the EV6 also supports the EV9. According to the design study, the larger, three-row electric Vehicle is called the EV9. The EV9's teaser photographs depict a huge, boxy SUV body shape akin to the Kia Telluride.

As can be seen in the idea, the distinctive LED headlight signature is kept, while the LED tail lights have a similarly styled streamlined, vertical layout.

The silhouette depicts a flat roof. The EV9 looks athletic and aggressive while also appearing to have a wide footprint. Moreover, it attempts to design the new flush door knobs and character lines. The production model will differ from the idea in that it will use standard ORVMs in place of the side cameras, as well as "smaller" 20- or 21-inch wheels.

Moreover, this platform includes an 800V electrical design, allowing for up to 350kW of quick charging. Cars using this architecture can charge from 20 percent to 80 percent in a little over seven minutes with a 64kWh battery. A dual-motor, four-wheel-drive range-topper and an entry-level model with a single motor driving the rear axle are anticipated to be offered from launch.

During the recent Auto Expo 2023 in India, the EV9 prototype was on display. Due to its massive size, Kia says it doesn't anticipate the EV9 SUV to be sold in large quantities. Instead, it will be marketed to purchasers of premium SUVs.
