Now that the Mahindra XUV400 is now the market, the Tata Nexon EV finally faces some direct competition. The Nexon EV currently is currently the market leader in the EV space but we do expect things to spice up a little with the XUv400. Let's take a look at the price difference between the Nexon EV and XUV400.

The Nexon EV new entry-level XM variant is now priced at Rs 14.49 lakh and rises all the way up to Rs 18.99 lakh for the Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux variant.

Tata's Nexon EV Prime is powered by a 30.2kWh battery pack, while the Nexon EV Max comes with a 40.5kWh unit. The battery packs on both versions are coupled to a single electric motor that makes 129PS/245Nm and 143PS/250Nm. The former promises a range of 312km, whereas the latter has a range of 437km. However, the Nexon EV Max will now benefit from an extended range of 453km via a software update.

The top-spec Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux also comes equipped with a lot of features and has now been priced at Rs 18.49 lakh. It was launched at Rs 19.24 lakh when launched. Meanwhile, Tata offers it with leatherette upholstery, front seat ventilation, a wireless charger, auto-dimming IRVM, an air purifier, an electric sunroof, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system by Harman, 8 speakers sound system, 16-inch alloy wheels, hill descent control, and shark fin antenna.

The Mahindra XUV400's prices start at Rs 16 lakh and top out at Rs 19 lakh, (all prices, ex-showroom). It is to be noted that Mahindra is offering this introductory pricing for the first 5,000 customers of each variant.

The XUV400 gets two battery packs: 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh, with a travel range of 375km and 456km, respectively. Both battery packs are paired with an electric motor producing the same 150PS and 310Nm of torque.
