Rivigo partners JK Tyre to introduce TREEL Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) in commercial vehicles in India
Indian tech-enabled logistics firm Rivigo announced that it has partnered with tyremaker JK Tyre & Industries Ltd to introduce its patented Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) technology that transmits seamless live data at regular intervals to monitor the condition of tyres every few seconds. A Rivigo innovation, the TPMS technologywill capture data relating to tyre pressure and temperature through advance algorithms and enable alerts in case of pilferage of tyres as and when they are demounted from vehicles. The vast amount of data generated will show the co-relation between tyre pressure and temperature and will help in predicting tyre life.
The pattern from the data will provide insights of wear pattern on the tyres, helping to predict cases of puncture or burst probability in real time. The technology can also define threshold operating conditions, which will generate real-time alerts for maintaining the right tyre pressure.
Mr. Vibhanshu Abhishek, Head of Data and AI at Rivigo said, "At Rivigo, we have always believed that IOT and data science are keys to smart and intelligent trucking solutions. We are proud to partner with JK Tyre & Industries Ltd to create the future of tyre management through IOT. Over the years we have come up with the science to turn trucks into IOT-enabled vehicles using technologies to track truck vitals, including fuel, driving behaviors and safety. The learnings through data on tyre performance will help manufacture better tyres for Indian roads."
Mr. Sanjeev Sharma, GM Fleet Management, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, said the partnership is aimed at driving synergies between both brands to maximize efficiencies. "JK Tyre & Industries Ltd is happy to partner logistics firm Rivigo to introduce the revolutionary sensor-based technology TREEL in commercial fleets in India. The partnership is based on driving synergies between both our companies, leveraging on each other's expertise to bring an innovative solution to commercial fleet owners who can now use the customized tyre management service to bring efficiencies to their business leading to greater profits," he said.
Vipul Sharma, Head of Asset at Rivigo, said the TPMS technology is pivoted at the core of the company's ethos of finding innovative solutions for the logistics industry. "Advanced tyre management will lead to better quality, higher mileage and better safety on Indian roads and is core part of Rivigo's mission of making Indian logistics human and safer," he said.
Called TREEL the TPMS technology powered by JK Tyre, is a new-age telematics and analytical system that includes a cloud-based, web and mobile application called TMaaS (Tyre Management as a Service) and JK Connect-smart tyre sensors that provides complete visibility to the driver in-cabin and to the Control Center. Besides real-time monitoring capability to the Control Center, the system sends real-time tyre pressure and temperature data to help drivers prevent downtime.
