GUGU Energy: Fully electric adventure SUV Bike (crossover between a scooter and a motorcycle)

Gugu Energy is a mobility tech startup from Coimbatore that designs and manufactures Electric adventure motorcycle SUVs and Solid state Battery Technology. Gugu Energy's R-SUV, the first fully electric SUV Bike, is a crossover between a scooter and a motorcycle and has been designed to deliver high performance and comfortable riding in all weather conditions.

With an emphasis on in house design and manufacturing, every component of Gugu Energy's R-Series SUV has been developed in-house without any existing OEM(Original equipment manufacturer) component supplier. From vehicle styling, USD forks and infotainment to battery pack technology, R-series SUV is designed and manufactured entirely at Gugu Energy's R&D centre in Coimbatore and design studio in Pune.

Cobalt, an essential ingredient in electric vehicle batteries, has been the primary reason behind the high cost of an EV Battery Cell thereby resulting in slower adoption. With a mission to make cobalt free battery packs, Gugu Energy has formulated and patented a Low cost Nickel-aluminium-Manganese based Semi-Solid state lithium battery pack solution that contains less than 5% cobalt content to drive down cost of packs to $120-140/Kw from current $210/Kw.

Gugu R-series SUV has a 5" inch touchscreen infotainment, a first of it's kind in the segment that provides real-time energy consumption, range estimation, navigation along with an in-built GPS system that gives updates on real time traffic conditions. The Integrated AI powered Gugu Energy App enables you to see nearby charging locations and provides vehicle diagnostics at the rider's fingertips A critical step in the adoption of electric vehicles is to create a seamless and convenient charging experience wherever customers choose to travel long distances. Over the next few years, Gugu Energy will create fast charging stations across India. Whether it's home or office or during a long distance travel, Gugu energy will setup multiple charging locations pan India.

Gugu Energy was founded by PSG Tech Alumni Guhan RP in the year 2015 along with his colleagues during their third year of Mechanical engineering. Gugu Energy has currently crossed 5000+ pre order bookings and has 25+ patents under its belt. The company has so far raised $750K in angel funding from Sudarshan Paul, Founder and CEO of a Dubai based Private oil and Gas corporation and from Kannan, an Industrialist in Coimbatore.
