Porsche announce electric versions 718, Macan and Cayenne models
At its annual conference, Porsche announced that the all-electric Cayenne is scheduled to debut in 2026. This will come two years after the Macan EV's scheduled 2024 debut and one year after the all-electric 718's anticipated 2025 debut.
The Macan EV, which Porsche has been testing for some time, will be offered in 2024. It should possess all the qualities that the Macan currently has: a small SUV with the excitement and delight that a Porsche provides.
The 718 will be totally electrified soon after that. Porsche has stated that the next 718 would initially solely be powered by electricity before receiving an internal combustion engine.
The fourth generation of the company's flagship SUV, the all-electric Cayenne will be built on the same Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture as the Macan EV. While the electric Macan will come with a 100kWh battery, the firm hasn't provided any technical information on the electric Cayenne, so we anticipate it to have a larger battery.
Porsche will offer the Cayenne EV alongside the current Cayenne ICE lineup, which will have undergone significant modifications by that time. According to Porsche, this thorough overhaul will include three newly designed plug-in hybrids with longer all-electric ranges as well as improved on and off-road performance and comfort over long distances.
The all-electric Cayenne will initially serve as the company's premier SUV, but only temporarily. A brand-new all-electric SUV that would sit atop the Cayenne was previously confirmed by the business.
Porsche sold 779 vehicles last year in India, of which 399 were Cayennes, making SUVs the bulk of the company's sales.
