PolarisPolaris will participate in the Mughal rally

Polaris India Pvt. Ltd has announced its participation in the much acclaimed Mughal Rally in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. Polaris India Pvt. Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Polaris Industries Inc., the world leader in off-road and All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV).

This will be the first time in the history of the company that it will participate in this renowned rally. The rally is a yearly event and covers a distance of 600 km, passing through Mughal Road in Srinagar.

Polaris India will use its model RZR S 800 to participate in the rally. RZR S 800 is specifically designed to take on off-road terrain. It has a 760cc twin-cylinder engine that puts out 52bhp. The engine is placed behind the passenger seat to give the vehicle a lower centre of gravity. This placement also makes the RZR S 800 a sharp handler with good rough-terrain stability. The vehicle will be steered by Raj Singh Rathore, the company's ace rider.

Polaris has earlier participated and won events such as Raid de Himalaya, Desert Storm and Dakshin Dare. "We Indians are showing more inclination and interest towards adventure sports. This has opened a wide scope of opportunity for the off-road vehicle industry to gain success. Mughal Rally is a fully packed adventurous journey and we are happy to be a part of it. Even though, this is our first time at the Mughal Rally, I am confident that we will emerge with flying colours as we have done in other similar events previously. We are excited and confident about our ATVs and are prepared to win the top spot with our ace product, RZR S 800," said Pankaj Dubey, Managing Director, Polaris India.

The Mughal Rally is scheduled from 28th June to 30th June and will include the 84 km stretch of the 'Mughal Road'. The rally will have two formats running simultaneously – the Xtreme and the Enduro. The Xtreme will be a Stage rally and the Enduro will be a Regularity test. The winners of both rallies will claim a prize of ? 2 lakh each.
