Bangalore-based electric scooter maker Ola has made an announcement about the mounting concerns over the fork in the S1 scooter range. The company is now offering front fork replacement to its customers free of charge. For this, the S1 owners can make an appointment at the nearest Ola dealership on 22 March, 2023 onwards.

An issued statement by the brand states, "Recently, there have been some concerns amongst the community around the safety of the front fork arm. We (Ola) assure you that this is unfounded." On the contrary, Ola says that it has upgraded the front fork design to enhance its durability and strength even further. Having said that, Ola has avoided referring to this fork replacement issue as a recall. Instead, the electric scooter manufacturer has called it an option to upgrade to the new front fork.

Meanwhile, it is to be noted that customers can make an appointment at their nearest Ola Experience Centre for the front fork replacement. Ola will be opening the appointment booking window on Wednesday, 22 March.

Recently, numerous pictures and videos of the broken front fork on the S1 scooters went viral on social media sites. According to some incidents experienced by the Ola S1 owners, the front fork of the e-scooter had abruptly fallen away while riding, causing the riders to topple over and collapse.
