Ola Electric sells S1 scooters worth Rs 600 crore in a single day
Ola Electric has stated that it has sold more than Rs 600 crore worth of Ola S1 scooters. The OLA electric scooter went on sale on Wednesday to individuals who had pre-ordered their two-wheeler post the Independence day launch.
In the first 24 hours, Ola Electric claims to have sold four scooters per second. The scooters sold are said to be worth more than the whole two-wheeler industry sells in a single day.
Consumers will have till today to purchase their Ola S1 and S1 Pro scooters. Those who have already made a reservation can purchase until midnight today when the purchasing window closes. Customers can keep reserving their place in the buying line. The Ola App is the only place where you may make a purchase.
The Ola S1 electric scooter starts at Rs 99,999 and the S1 Pro is priced at Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom). EMI's for the Ola S1 starts at Rs 2,999 whereas the EMIs for Ola S1 Pro starts at Rs 3,199.
Bhavish Aggarwal, the CEO of Ola, tweeted to commemorate the occasion, stating "India is committing to EVs and rejecting petrol! We sold 4 scooters/sec at peak & sold scooters worth 600Cr+ in a day! Today is the last day, purchase will shut at midnight. So lock in this introductory price and buy on the Ola app before we sell out!"
