This April JK Tyres' powered Indian Racing Festival made quite an attempt at igniting a Motorsport Movement, covering Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, and Sikkim.
A Cultural Motorsport Phenomenon
More than just a showcase of speed and precision, JK Tyre's tour was a celebration of the North-East's unique cultural spirit, blending world-class motorsport with local identity. The festival was an immersive experience that brought communities together. With a stronghold in the SUV tyre market across these hill states, JK Tyre come forward as a cultural force uniting commerce with community, and tyres with performance.
Celebrating Speed and Diversity
The Indian Racing Festival featured racers of all ages and backgrounds, from 9-year-old karting prodigies to seasoned drift champions. The tour was a vibrant platform where engineering excellence met local artistry, bringing together IIT engineers, motorsport legends, and tribal dancers alike. Despite unpredictable weather, the enthusiasm of motorsport fans remained unshaken, proving the region's unstoppable passion for the sport.
The Journey across Five Cities
Kohima, Nagaland: The festival kicked off on April 12 in partnership with the Nagaland Adventure & Motor Sports Association at the 4th NAP Battalion Ground. For the first time, Formula 4 and Indian Racing League cars thundered across Nagaland's soil, igniting local excitement amidst live music and roaring engines.
Aizawl, Mizoram: Motorsport action met cultural heritage as stunt teams performed daring drifts around the iconic Cheraw bamboo dance. Even the rain couldn't dampen the spirits, turning Mizoram's capital into a motorsport amphitheater.
Shillong, Meghalaya: In collaboration with the Assam Rifles and Meghalaya Motorsport Society, the DGAR Cantonment became a hub of karting, drifting, and thrilling stunts. Local students from Martin Luther Christian University added to the vibrant atmosphere with captivating performances.
Guwahati, Assam: Hosted at IIT Guwahati, the event merged academic innovation with motorsport adrenaline. Despite relentless rain, the crowd gathered in large numbers to witness racing cars and superbikes, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display.
Gangtok, Sikkim: The grand finale took place amid the majestic Himalayas, coinciding with Sikkim's 50th Statehood anniversary. The highlight was the JK Tyre Mountain Rush Rally - Sikkim's first-ever Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) car rally - flagged off at Burtuk Helipad with dignitaries and motorsport icons in attendance.
