New Triumph Daytona 660 launched at Rs 9.72 lakh

Triumph Motorcycles India has launched the long-due Daytona 660 in India at Rs 9,72,450 (ex-showroom). It comes in three colours: Satin Granite with Satin Jet Black, Snowdonia White with Sapphire Black, and Carnival Red with Sapphire Black.

Triumph Daytona 660: Design

The new Daytona 660 bears an imposing stance with its aggressive looks that matches that of a supersport. It gets dual split headlamps, a sizable windscreen, a full fairing with cuts and creases, a muscular fuel tank, unswept tail section, step-up seat, and subtle colours. Customers can also choose from 30 optional accessories, including an colour-coded seat cowl and lowered-seat height system.

Triumph Daytona 660: Highlights

Triumph has equipped the Daytona 660, which replaces the Daytona 765 Moto2, with a host of features, such as three ride modes (Sport, Road, and Rain), a colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, slip-and-assist cutch, ride-by-wire, an Emergency Deceleration Warning system, and traction control. It also gets Showa front forks, a rear Showa monoshock, twin four-piston radial calliper with 310mm discs, and a single 220mm rear disc with a single-piston calliper. There are new Michelin Power 6 tyres with 120/70-17 ZR section front and 180/55-17 ZR section rear tyres. The seat height of the middleweight supersport stands at 801mm, while the wight with 90 per cent fuel is 201kg.

Triumph Daytona 660: Engine specifications

The Daytona 660 gets a 660cc, inline three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 95PS at 11,250rpm and 69Nm of torque at 8,250rpm. This unit makes 17 per cent more power and nine per cent more torque compared to the Trident 660. Not only that, over 80 per cent of the peak torque of 69Nm is accessible from as low as 3,125rpm. Triumph has also given it a new exhaust with a 3-in-1 header and a compact underslung silencer to create a distinctive sound. The engine is coupled to a six-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quickshifter.
