New Simple Dot One electric scooter launched at Rs 1.40 lakh

Simple Energy has launched the Dot One in India at Rs 1,39,999 (ex-showroom). On 15 December, the company had revealed a special introductory price of Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom) to pre-book the e-scooter for customers who live in Bangalore. Now, the pre-bookings across the country will open on 27 January, 2024. However, the existing customers planning to switch from the Simple One to Dot One electric scooter, with an exclusive bookings window, can make bookings from 1 January, 2024 at Rs 1,39,999 (Ex-showroom). That being said, customers can reserve their new Dot One via the official Simple Energy website at Rs 1,947. Meanwhile, the customer deliveries of the Dot One will commence in Bangalore soon, followed by other cities across India.

New Simple One Dot: Design and colours

The Dot One appears largely the same as its elder sibling, the One electric scooter, featuring sharp cuts and creases and angular body panels. The e-scooter is available in a choice of four colours: Namma Red, Grace White, Brazen Black, and Azure Blue, while the company also offers BrazenX and LightX for customers looking for personalisation.

New Simple One Dot: Features and specifications

The new Dot One features an increased 35 litres of under-seat storage compared to 30 litres storage of the One. Further, it boasts all-LED lighting, a touchscreen cluster Bluetooth connectivity and navigation support, ride modes (Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic), and reversing assist, among others. In terms of hardware, it gets conventional telescopic front forks, a rear monoshock, 12-inch wheels at both ends, and a 200mm front and a 190mm rear disc brake setup.

New Simple One Dot: Range, Battery, and power outputs

Powering the Dot One is a 3.7kWh battery pack with a range of 151km on a single charge, while the IDC test cycle range provides a range of 160km. The electric motor on the Dot One makes 8.5kW of peak power and 72Nm of torque, resulting 0-40kmph in a claimed 2.77 seconds. The top speed is rated at 105kmph. Plus, Simple Energy offers a 750W charger with the Dot One.

The One has a 5kWh battery pack providing an IDC range of 212km and its electric motor makes 4.5kW (8.5kW at peak) and 72Nm of torque. It also tops out at 105kmph.
