Royal Enfield's most awaited motorcycle of this year, the all-new Himalayan 450, has been spied testing once again. This test mule of the Himalayan 450 appears identical to the other test mules appeared in the recent spy pictures. This model also looks near-production-ready.

We believe that the launch of this eagerly awaited Himalayan 450 is just around the corner and could take place in the coming months. Upon launch, the KTM 390 Adventure rival might well become the most compelling offering from Royal Enfield. But will it be a roaring success for the two-wheeler manufacturer? To find out that, we will need to wait for its launch.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Engine, Transmission, and Power output

In one of the recent spy pictures of the Himalayan 450, we got a close-up look at its new engine. The black-painted engine of the test mule showed off Royal Enfield branding on the casing. Above all, the Himalayan 450 is likely to get an all-new 450cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine generating north of 40PS and 45Nm of torque. Mated to this motor could be a six-speed gearbox.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Specifications and Features

In terms of hardware, expect the upcoming Himalayan 450 to benefit from Showa's upside down forks and a rear mono shock. The former debuted with the Super Meteor 650. However, both front and rear units might offer some adjustability. It could also borrow the Super Meteor 650's 320mm front single-disc and 300mm rear single-disc setup. Regarding features, Royal Enfield is likely to provide all-LED lights, switchable dual-channel ABS, slipper clutch, traction control, multiple ride modes, and probably ride-by-wire.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Instrument cluster and switchgear

The all-new Himalayan 450 could become the first-ever Royal Enfield to offer a new round-shaped fully digital instrument cluster. It might be a colour TFT unit. Since the test mule did not have Tripper navigation setup, this new fully digital console would likely to offer Bluetooth-connectivity and built-in navigation function. It may also offer more data and features via a smartphone app.

Apart from that, the Himalayan 450 will feature a new switchgear, which resembles the units on the Super Meteor 650, Meteor 350, Hunter 350, 2023 Interceptor 650, 2023 Continental GT 650. However, the switchgear on the Himalayan 450 seems sturdier.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Prices and rivals

Royal Enfield could price the new Himalayan 450 around Rs 2.50 lakh or above. While its primary rival will be the KTM 390 Adventure, it will also take on the Yezdi Adventure and BMW G 310 GS.
