New MG Comet EV launched: Variants explained

MG recently launched the new Comet EV in India with prices starting at Rs 7.98 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). The EV is available in a choice of three variants: Pace, Play, and Plush. While its bookings will start on 15 May, the brand will begin deliveries from 22 May. It comes with five funky colour options: Aurora Silver, Candy White, Starry Black, along with Apple Green with Starry Black roof and Candy White with Starry Black roof. There are also over 250 customisation options, including the Comet Gamer Edition. Here, we take a quick look at its variants and variant-wise features.

MG Comet EV: Range, Battery, and Charging

Powering the MG Comet is an IP67-rated 17.3kWh battery pack with an ARAI-certified range of 230km. An electric motor produces 42PS and 110Nm of torque. With a 3.3kW Type-2 AC charger, it takes a claimed seven hours to charge the Comet EV from zero to 100 per cent. Whereas, the 10 to 80 per cent comes in a claimed five hours.
