British marque McLaren has the new GTS, a replacement to the GT, bringing in an updated engine, an expanded range of options, a new paint job, enhanced inside and out, and a lightweight construction.

New McaLaren GTS: Design

The new GTS uses "MonoCell II-T" monocoque chassis and a standard composite roof made from recycled carbon fibre. Visually, the GTS displays a more assertive stance with updated front and rear elements, such as the front sculpted air intakes and new and taller air scoops, both allowing enhanced airflow into the V8 mill. Overall, the GTS not only maintains McLaren's hallmarks of striking design but also resemblance to its predecessor. Unique to the GTS are the new turbine forged alloy wheels, and a new Lava Grey paint job.

Weighing in at 1,520kg, the GTS claims the title of the lightest car in its segment and boasts an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 418PS per tonne.

New McLaren GTS: Interior

The interior of the GTS bears a blend performance and luxury, incorporating high-grade materials, such as comfort seats upholstered in Nappa leather, knurled aluminum switches, and gloss black finishes. Other highlights include a 10.25-inch digital instrument display and a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Plus, the new GTS offers three driving modes, adaptive suspension, and a carbon ceramic braking system - 390mm discs at the front and 380mm discs at the rear.

The firm has introduced a new performance and TechLux interior schemes. Performance trim seats are upholstered in Softgrain Aniline leather and Alcantara in Jet Black or Barolo, with contrast piping. It also includes powered and heated comfort seats with memory function. On the other hand, the new TechLux interior scheme offers Softgrain Aniline Leather interior with a new double piped pattern on the seats.

New McLaren GTS: Powertrain

Powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that delivers 635PS, a 15PS increase from the GT, the GTS accelerates to 100kmph from a standstill in a swift 3.2 seconds and provides a top speed of 326kmph. Not to mention, the zero to 200kmph now comes at just 8.9 seconds, which is 0.1 second quicker than the previous model. This mill is married to a seven-speed automatic transmission.
