Kawasaki India has introduced the all-new Ninja ZX-4R with prices starting at Rs 8,49,000 (ex-showroom). Earlier this month, the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer teased the motorcycle via its social media handles.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R: Powertrain

The crux of the new Ninja ZX-4R lies in its powertrain, which is a 399cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine generating 77PS at 14,500rpm and 39Nm of torque at 13,000rpm. Interestingly, when equipped with the RAM air inlet it can produce maximun power of 80PS at 14,500rpm. This motor comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R: Design

The Ninja ZX-4R appears a proper supersport and bears an imposing stance. It gets aggresive fascia with the familiar twin-pod headlamps, sharp fairing, a muscular fuel tank, raised tail section, split seat arrangement, and large tyres. The clip-on handlebar and rear-set foot pegs hints at commited riding position. Kawasaki says that its chassis design takes inspiration from its World Superbike Championship motorcycle, the ZX-10RR. For India, the new ZX-4R comes with a single paint job, called Metallic Spark Black.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R: Features and specifications

The bike maker has equipped the inline four-powered supersport with a 4.3-inch colour TFT display, four ride modes (Sport, Road, Rain, Rider), bi-directional quick shifter, all-LED lighting, and dual-channel ABS. In terms of hardware, the ZX-4R comes fitted with 290mm dual front disc brakes with radial-mounted, mono-block, opposed four-piston callipers, while the rear single piston 220mm disc brake. Moreover, there is a pair of upside down front forks from Showa (Showa Separate Function Big Piston) and a Showa rear monoshock.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R: Rivals

The new ZX-4R does not have any direct rivals in India but it can stack up against the Honda CBR650R.
