New Hero Mavrick 440 Unveiled: Top Highlights

Hero MotoCorp pulled the wraps off the new Mavrick 440 in India today. The neo-retro style roadster, based on the Harley-Davidson X440, will be available in three variants, namely Base, Mid, and Top across five colour schemes. Notably, the bookings for the sporty commuter will begin in February 2024, followed by customer deliveries starting in the coming months.

Hero Mavrick 440: Design

The Mavrick 440 appears muscular and sporty with its neo-retro design, which features a round LED headlamp with integrated DRL, a sculpted fuel tank with tank extensions, a single-piece seat, brushed metal finished side panels.

In terms of colours, the Mavrick 440 base variant with spoke wheels will be offered in an Arctic White shade, while the mid variant will benefit from alloy wheels and will get Celestial Blue and Fearless Red colour schemes. The top variant of the Mavrick 440 will be available with distinct machined alloy wheels and will come in two paint jobs, namely Phantom Black and Enigma Black colour options.

Hero Mavrick 440: Features and Specs

Hero has equipped the motorcycle Telescopic front forks, twin rear shock absorbers, dual-channel ABS, LCD instrument console with turn-by-turn navigation and call/sms alerts, automatic headlamp, a slipper clutch, all-LED lighting, and a USB charging port. Also on offer is e-sim connectivity with numerous features.

The Mavrick has a seat height of 803mm and weighs 187kg (191kg with spoke wheels). Meanwhile, Hero has given it MRF's 17-inch radial tyres.

Hero Mavrick 440: Engine, power outputs, and gearbox

The Mavrick 440 will come powered by the 440cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled SOHC engine, the same as the H-D X440, paired with a six-speed gearbox. It delivers 27.3PS and 36Nm of torque.

Hero Mavrick 440: Price and rivals

We expect the prices of the new Hero Mavrick 440 to start from Rs 2.30 lakh and go up to Rs 2.60 lakh. Upon launch, the Mavrick 440 will compete against the Triumph Speed 400, Harley-Davidson X440, and the Royal Enfield Classic 350. Currently, the H-D X440 has been priced between Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the Triumph Speed 400 costs Rs 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom), while the RE Classic 350 prices range between Rs 1.93 lakh and Rs 2.24 lakh (ex-showroom).
