New Hero Karizma XMR India launch tomorrow
The wait is over. Hero has finally set the stage to launch the all-new Karizma in India tomorrow, on 29 August, 2023. The bike maker has been making headlines by posting new teasers for last few weeks, offering sneak peeks and hints of the specifications of the new Karizma XMR. The original Karizma of yesteryear emerged as a disrupter in its segment, creating a wide fan base. Powered by a 223cc single-cylinder air-cooled SOHC engine, the Hero Honda Karizma was one of the most compelling offerings back in the day. Here we tell you what should you expect from the legendary moniker that is making a comeback.
New Hero Karizma XMR: Engine, power outputs, and gearbox
The upcoming Karizma XMR, as hinted in the official teasers, will come powered by a new 210cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. This motor is likely to deliver about 24-26PS and 20-24Nm of torque. It may provide a claimed top speed of 143kmph. In comparison, the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 produces 26.5PS and 22.2Nm of torque, while the Yamaha YZF-R15 V4 makes 18.4PS and 14.2Nm of torque. The Bajaj Pulsar RS200, on the other hand, generates 24.5PS and 18.7Nm of torque.
New Hero Karizma XMR: Design
The most recent teasers of the new Karizma XMR show off its front end, revealing its sporty design language and aggressive face. The teasers also highlight sharp cuts and creases, angular side fairing, a reasonably large windscreen, a dual-projector LED headlight with integrated daytime running lights, a split seat setup, a muscular fuel tank, raised tail section, and a stubby side-slung exhaust. Additionally, the motorcycle will be available in the familiar yellow and red paint jobs alongside a few other colour options.

If the spy shots and teasers are to go by, the new Karizma XMR will come with conventional telescopic front forks, a rear mono-shock, single-disc brake units at the both ends, and alloy wheels possibly wrapped in radial tyres at the front and rear.
