New-gen 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC India launch by Q3 2023
German luxury auto major Mercedes-Benz has promised to bring 10 new cars to India in 2023. Notably, it has already introduced the sporty drop-top, the E 53 4Matic+ Cabriolet. The brand has now confirmed that it will launch the new generation GLC in the country by the third quarter of this year. Unveiled in June 2022, the new SUV has already gone on sale in Germany and other western markets.
All-new Mercedes-Benz GLC: Design
The GLC measures 4,716mm in length, 2,075mm in width, and 1,640mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,888mm, which has increased by 15mm. The new headlights with integrated eyebrow-like DRLs, a wider radiator grille, triangular-shaped taillights, and door-mounted ORVMs dominate the fresh exterior of the GLC.
All-new Mercedes-Benz GLC: Interior
The completely overhauled interior features a new steering wheel, air-con vents, and seats. Moreover, it gets a new MBUX setup consisting of two independent displays: a 12.3-inch driver screen and an 11.9-inch tablet-like touchscreen infotainment system. However, Mercedes has replaced the MBUX track pad setup with cubby holders and a wireless charging pad.
All-new Mercedes-Benz GLC: Features
The GLC boasts a bunch of features, however, a new off-road mode is one of the new feature additions in the list that activates the 'transparent bonnet' mode. Mercedes has also given it a 360-camera, heads-up display, panoramic sunroof, 64 colours ambient lighting, fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication, multi-zone temperature control, LED headlamps, powered seats with memory settings, improved ADAS, and USB charging ports, among others. Meanwhile, progressive digital headlights, airmatic suspension, and rear-wheel steering are available as an optional extra.
All-new Mercedes-Benz GLC: Powertrain
With this generation update, the new GLC now gets mild-hybrid assistance for all petrol and diesel powertrains. Each version also comes equipped with a 4Matic all-wheel drive. On the other hand, PHEV trims offer up to 100km EV-mode-only range and tops out at 140kmph. In Germany and other western markets, Mercedes-Benz offers it with three trim levels, GLC 200, GLC 300, and GLC 220d, including GLC 300e, GLC 400e, and GLC 300de plug-in hybrid versions.
