New BMW M2 launched in India; prices start at Rs 98 lakh
German automaker BMW has launched the all-new M2 in India with prices starting at Rs 98 lakh (ex-showroom). The brand has decided to sell the sporty two-door coupe as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).
New BMW M2: Engine, power outputs, and gearbox
Powering the BMW M2 is a 2,993cc, inline-six cylinder, twin-scroll turbocharged petrol engine that produces 460PS at 6,250rpm and 550Nm of torque between 2,650rpm and 5,870rpm. Interestingly, it comes mated to either a manual gearbox or an automatic transmission. However, the manual gearbox is available as an optional extra. The key design highlights of the M2 include a distinctive frameless kidney grille, large and rectangular front air inlets, long bonnet, slanted roofline, rear diffuser, and quad exhaust tips. It also gets M dual-tone light alloy wheels -- 19-inch at the front and 20-inch at the rear. The same wheels with Jet Black finished are optional.

The M2 has a tech-laden cabin and comes draped in Vernasca leather available in three themes. It features M steering wheel with M1 and M2 buttons, M sport seats, M seat belts, electronically adjustable driver and co-passenger seat with memory function for driver, a 12.3-inch driver display, a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a heads-up display, and a 14-speaker, 464-watt, Harman Kardon surround sound system.
