MotoGP and the Government of Uttar Pradesh have signed a three-year contract to organise the world's most premiere motorcycle championship in India, starting from 2025 until 2027. The 2024 Indian Grand Prix of the ongoing MotoGP was cancelled, citing various reasons. It is to be noted that the new agreement has been signed between MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports and Invest UP - an initiative of the UP Government.

The upcoming 2025 MotoGP season will be continued to be held at the Buddha International Circuit (BIC), which the first-ever BharatGP made its debut in 2023. In fact, the inaugural India Grand Prix at BIC witnessed over 100,000 attendees.

"We're very happy to announce this new agreement made directly with the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The inaugural Indian Grand Prix was a key success and brought an enormous amount of value to both MotoGP and our host region of UP, so it's fantastic we are able to continue building that together into the future" said Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO, Dorna Sports.

In other news, MotoGP has also signed a new three-year agreement with Eurosport India. The agreement offers Eurosport India rights to broadcast the MotoGP races in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the Maldives.
