MINI is said to have made a huge step forward by releasing its newest operating system for its future new-generation cars. The new OS 9 is housed within an all-new 9.44-inch OLED panel in the dashboard's centre. In addition to a new circular infotainment screen, the new Cooper has a simple and futuristic-looking interior.

MINI Interaction Unit

The free-floating entertainment system is a circular disc measuring 240mm in diameter or 9.5 inches that sits atop the dashboard. Mini refers to it as an "interaction unit," and it runs a whole new operating system. The latest version of OS 9 is the first to be built on an Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

It has eight 'experience modes' that modify the overall mood of the cabin through the use of lighting, interface design, driving settings, and noises. Its modes include Forest, Timeless, Vivid, Trail, Core, and Green, as well as Go Kart, which makes the interior black and the dials red, in keeping with Mini's frequent handling claims.

The upper screen space is allocated for driving-related items such as vehicle speed and crucial vehicle status information. The optional Head-up display displays the most relevant information in the driver's field of vision. The navigation system includes updated three-dimensional maps as well as an AI view.

The new system is 5G-compatible and can access its digital store through a digital key, which includes streaming services for games, music, and movies.

MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant

Mini is also releasing a new interactive personal assistant with the updated OS9. It may be accessible with the voice command 'Hey, Mini' or by mentioning its name 'Spike'. Customers will be able to use this assistant to regulate functions and enable travel-related queries, among other connection features.

The device can also distinguish between the voices of the driver and the front passenger.

The next-generation Mini Cooper is slated to launch in the fourth quarter of 2023, with an all-electric SE model joining the basic drivetrain. We also anticipate that the new Cooper will arrive in India shortly after worldwide sales begin.
