Before Mini moves into an electrification era, they aim to give one last swing at their internal combustion engine and hence the Mini John Cooper Works 1to6 Edition. It honours Mini racing and the "pure essence of motorsport" by being a JCW with a six-speed manual transmission, hence the moniker 1to6. Only 999 units will be offered.

The hot hatch with a stick shift will make its public premiere this weekend at the Nürburgring 24 Hours endurance event in Midnight Black with a hood stripe. To emphasize its rarity, Mini sells the JCW 1to6 in a fixed specification that includes glossy black 18-inch wheels and a "one of 999" inscription on the sunroof, steering wheel, and instrument panel.

Under the hood, the JCW retains the turbocharged 2.0-litre gasoline engine, which produces 234PS and 320Nm of torque. It allows the feisty hatchback to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.3 seconds on its way to a peak speed of 246 kmph.

On the inside, you'll see stainless steel pedals and distinctive emblems on the floor mats and side sills that mimic the "1to6" badging on the C-pillars. It's also on the steering wheel and the passenger side of the dashboard. Red highlights contrast with the brake callipers, which are also red.

The John Cooper Works 1to6 Edition will be available in Europe, the United States, Canada, and Mexico beginning in September. Only 999 units will be manufactured and will command a much higher pricetag over the standard Mini hatchback.
