Michelin introduces new City Pro tyre for motorcycles in India
Michelin has launched the new City Pro range of tyres for scooters and motorcycles upto 150cc in India. The starting price for scooter tyres are Rs 1,100 per tyre and Rs 1,600 per tyre for motocycles. Local taxes will be charged above these prices. The tyres have been designed for rigorous urban use. The company says that the combination of its Michelin Overlap Technology, three reinforced plies and a layer of rubber beneath the tread provides robustness to the tyre. It also claims that the tyres offer superior wet road grip.
Speaking about the new range of tyres, Pradeep G Thampy, commercial director, Two Wheels, Michelin Asia, Africa and Middle East, said, "Scooters have become increasingly popular in India and emerged as a preferred choice of commuting because of ease of riding and parking in congested areas. The convenience of push start, fuel efficiency and comfort of automatic transmission are enablers to this new trend, which has also seen more and more women adopt scooters as their choice of mobility. Michelin City Pro, a robust tyre will offer daily commuters with a comfortable in-city ride experience"
The new City Pro tyres are available nationwide across Michelin premium dealerships - Michelin Priority Partners, the Tyreplus network and Michelin retailers. The tyres are avalilable for the following scooters and motorcycles.
