MG Astor to be available in 5 different trims when it goes on sale next month

The MG Astor has been grabbing plenty of attention after its unveiling earlier this month, and now a document has been leaked which states that the new mid-size SUV from MG Motors will be available in 5 trim models.

The document was leaked from the Delhi RTO office and going by the document, the 5 variants are Style, Super, Smart, Sharp, and Savvy.

The MG Astor will be available with two engine choices once it goes on sale. A 1.5-litre naturally aspirated which will be available with a manual or an automatic transmission and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol paired to an automatic gearbox. The 1.-litre unit will produce 110PS and 144 Nm of torque, while the 1.3-litre turbo unit will put out a healthy 140PS and 220 Nm of torque.

As per the leaked document, except for the base-spec Style, MG will offer automatic gearboxes on all trim levels. Also, it appears that the top-spec Savvy will not be available with the 6-speed manual transmission.

Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard, linked car technology, climate control, wireless phone charging, steering modes, a panoramic sunroof and 6-way power-adjustable driver seat are all standard features on MG's compact SUV.

Multiple airbags, parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, hill descent control and electronic stability control ensure passenger safety. It also includes a segment-first AI personal assistant as well as Advanced Driver Assistance System.

The MG Astor will take on the Likes of the all-new Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq and the current market leaders, the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Pricing for the new MG Astor will begin at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) once it goes on sale next month.
