MG Astor gets new EX variant starting at Rs 10.22 lakh
The MG Astor SUV's model line-up has been refreshed by MG Motor India. The automaker has unveiled Style EX, Smart EX, Sharp EX, and Super EX, four new variants. These variations are offered at a starting price of Rs 10.22 lakh and are positioned below the regular versions (ex-showroom).
For the EX version, quite a bit of safety equipment has been eliminated, perhaps to shorten waiting times that have been growing longer due to the chip scarcity. On the other hand, the car's standard variants have been kept, therefore the premium isn't too high.
Features like ESC, traction control, hill hold control, and hill descent control are absent from the Astor EX models. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, and Blind Spot Detection are not available on the Sharp EX model.
Only the 1.5-litre petrol engine and 6-speed manual transmission is offered with the MG Astor EX grades. This engine produces 110PS and 144 Nm of torque.
The SUV's normal versions also come with a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine linked to a 6-speed automatic transmission and a 1.5-litre gasoline engine combined with an 8-speed CVT. The 1.3-litre engine produces 140PS and 220 Nm of torque.
The EX variant also lacks the 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which was formerly available as standard across all variations.
Pricing for the MG Astor EX variants kicks off at Rs 10.22 lakh for the Style EX Style, then the Super EX at Rs 11.90 lakh, Smart EX at Rs. 13.52 lakh
and Sharp EX at Rs. 14.46 lakh.
