Mercedes-Benz previews MBUX Superscreen of new-gen E-Class
Ahead of the world premiere of the all-new E-Class later this year, Mercedes-Benz has revealed details about its new MBUX Superscreen - a three-display setup similar to the MBUX Hyperscreen. Notably, this new generation MBUX Superscreen system also features a built-in camera to attend meetings or take selfies.
Mercedes-Benz says the new MBUX Superscreen is more intelligent and achieves a new dimension of personalisation and interaction. Its electronic architecture emphasises the use of software over hardware for individual updating of cabin systems in the future. Additionally, the MBUX system utilises a "new very powerful central onboard computer'" with a single processor for enhanced performance and faster data transmission speeds.
The MBUX Superscreen comprises three screens - a driver display, a central information hub, and a co-passenger display. Above all, the MBUX setup now supports third-party apps, such as Tik Tok, Webex, Zoom, ZYNC, and Vivaldi. Interestingly, users can also play Angry Birds on the screen. On top of that, the optional MBUX Superscreen package also includes a selfie and video camera. The driver can attend video calls or conferences when the car is stationary and even take photos and videos.
Along with the MBUX Superscreen, the all-new E-Class offers active ambient lighting, Burmester 4D sound system with Dolby Atmos, and Energising Comfort package as optional extras. The firm has introduced a new feature in Energising Comfort programme, called motion sickness prevention. This programme claims to help affected passengers alleviate their symptoms. Further, Mercedes offers a Thermotronic temperature control system with digital vent control, which automatically adjusts the front air-con vents depending on desired ventilation scenario.
Meanwhile, the new-gen E-Class will debut sometime later this year, followed by its launch in the Indian market. Notably, the E-Class has been the best-selling model for the brand. Currently, it offers E-Class, E 53 AMG, E 63 AMG, and the recently launched E 53 Cabriolet.
