McLaren to open its first showroom in Mumbai in October
The arrival of McLaren Automotive into the Indian market has been formally confirmed. In Mumbai, the business plans to debut its first showroom in October.
The McLaren GT and 720S were the automaker's initial models when it originally announced ambitions to establish operations in the nation in May of last year. Soon the McLaren Artura, 765LT Coupe, and Spider will be available.
The McLaren GT, a low-slung grand tourer with a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine designed for 620PS and 630Nm, is the entry-level McLaren model. The vehicle can reach a top speed of 326 kmph and reach 100 kmph in 3.2 seconds. Deliveries for the GT are already underway.
As the first authorized retailer for the British brand in India, Infinity Vehicles will sell sports cars through the McLaren Mumbai showroom. In the second half of 2022, there will be a celebration honouring the opening.
Given the high customs and import fees in India, McLaren's supercars are imported as fully built-up vehicles and are far more expensive than their foreign competitors. They compete in the nation with similarly fast and expensive supercars from Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini.
