Matter Aera electric motorcycle bookings to open on 17 May
Matter Energy has announced that it will open bookings for the Aera electric motorcycle across 25 districts in India on 17 May, 2023. Customers will be able to pre-book it via its official website and the e-commerce platform, Flipkart. Notably, the Aera EV is available in two variants: Aera 5000 and Aera 5000+, priced at Rs Rs 1,43,999 and Rs 1,53,999 (ex-showroom, including FAME-II subsidy), respectively. Meanwhile, Matter plans to open 50 dealerships in 25 across key 25 districts.
The bookings for the Aera EV will open in Pune, Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam, Ahmedabad, Vijayawada, Krishna, Coimbatore, Bengaluru, Mysore, Chennai, Madurai, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Nagpur, Nashik, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara, Jaipur, Indore, Delhi NCR, Patna, Lucknow, Kanpur, Guwahati, Kamrup, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, and Kordha.
Matter Aera EV: Battery, Range, and Charging
The Matter Aera gets a 5kWh liquid-cooled battery pack paired with an electric motor generating 10kW (14PS). It has a claimed range between 125km and 150km. However, the unique highlight of the EV is its four-speed HyperShift gearbox that offers variable throttle response and torque output. With a standard charger, the Aera EV takes five hours to fully recharge, whereas it chargers in just two hours with a fast charger.
Matter Aera EV: Variant and Colour options
Currently, Matter has revealed prices only for 5000 and 5000+ variants. The 4000 and 6000+ trims will arrive later this year. Meanwhile, the Aera 5000 is available in Black and Blue shades, while the Aera 5000+ comes in Black, Blue, White, Red, and Grey colours schemes.
Matter Aera EV: Features and Specs
The Aera EV gets a seven-inch LCD touchscreen display, 4G and Wi-Fi connectivity, nine axis IMU, push button start, three riding modes (Eco, City, and Sports), reverse park assist, and dual disc setup at both ends with a single-channel ABS, among others.

The Aera EV takes on the likes of the Tork Kratos, Revolt 400, and Oben Rorr.
Matter EV on Flipkart
The Ahemdabad-based two-wheeler EV start-up recently joined hands with the e-commerce platform Flipkart for the pre-bookings of the new Aera EV. As a part of this, customers will benefit from special introductory offers upon booking the Matter Aera on Flipkart.
