Maruti Suzuki True Value sales cross 40 lakh milestone
Maruti Suzuki, India's largest carmaker, has now sold over 40 lakh pre-owned cars via its True Value network. Established in 2001, the True Value network of pre-owned sales touchpoints has now grown to include 550 outlets in 268 cities in India. This makes this network the largest company-run pre-owned car brand by sales.
All cars passing through the True Value network come with a one year warranty and three free services, and are put through 376 checks to assess quality, refurbish and certify. Aside from the Maruti Suzuki range of cars, these outlets also sell pre-owned cars from other brands. Other services on offer are insurance, finance and accessories. Maruti Suzuki True Vale also offers a digital selling platform, where sellers can book a home appointment for their vehicle to be appraised. This evaluation is done using an AI-based scientific pricing engine. These digital platforms have been quite successful, with 70 per cent of True Value customers accessing these.
Shashank Srivastava, executive director of marketing and sales at Maruti Suzuki said, "The pre-owned car market in India is highly unorganised and there are very few players providing safe, reliable and transparent buying and selling experience to buyers. True Value was set up to overcome these issues and ensure that buyers of pre-owned cars get the same experience as new car buyers. These outlets are digitally integrated through website and app so that customers can access details of all the cars available at True Value outlets from the comfort of their home. Our focus is to offer quality cars, refurbished and certified with the assurance of warranty. The record of over 4 million True Value pre-owned car sales stands testament to our customers' persistent support and love for the brand".
