Maruti Suzuki Eeco surpasses 10 lakh unit sales milestone

Maruti Suzuki has achieved the milestone of selling 10 lakh units of its Eeco in India. As claimed, the Eeco is the highest-selling van in the country and accounts for 94 per cent of the market share. Notably, the Eeco was introduced in the market in 2010.

The brand offers the Eeco in a choice of 13 variants across five- and seven-seater layouts along with Cargo, Tour, and Ambulance versions. It gets various safety features, including dual front airbags, an anti-lock braking system, and electronic brakeforce distribution.

Powering the Eeco is a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT petrol engine generating 81PS and 104Nm of torque. In the CNG mode, the van makes 72PS and 95Nm of torque. This motor comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. With this, the Eeco petrol returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 20.20kmpl, whereas the Eeco CNG gives out a mileage of 27.05km/kg.
