Maruti Suzuki S-Presso micro SUV to be launched in India today

Maruti Suzuki S-press, one of the most anticipated micro SUV will be launched in India today. Maruti Suzuki already revealed its upcoming small-SUV, on its website ahead of the car's formal launch.

The images reveal, the S-Presso gets a chunky bumper with high a hood lip. The grille with the cubic chrome inserts from the Brezza bringing in the traditional SUV cues

The headlamps are halogen units. As reported earlier, the side profile displays SUV like proportions such as a visually upright windscreen. There's also a rising window-line, a chunky C-pillar and tail lamps with a slight hint of the Vitara Brezza to them.

The interiors of the S-Presso take on an all-black layout with body-coloured inserts. A distinctive feature is the central instrument cluster, which along with the SSmartplay Studio infotainment system, is enclosed in a round instrument binnacle. This is flanked by a low-set dash while the AC controls sit below the central unit.

There's the steering wheel from cars like the new Wagon R along with a set of mounted controls. The sits are finished in fabric with contrasting stitches. Notably, this seems like the mid-spec AMt version, as evidenced by the manual windows in the second row.

The S-Presso is expected to sit above the Alto in the Maruti Suzuki line-up and come powered with the BSVI compliant 1.0-litre 3-cylinder motor seen on cars like the Alto K10 and the base versions of the WagonR. This should be paired with either a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. The S-Presso will be a more direct rival to the Renault Kwid and will be slightly larger than the Alto in terms of size. We expect prices of the S-Presso to start under the Rs 5 lakh mark on-road.
